Did “Biggest Loser” Winner Rachel Frederickson Lose Too Much Weight?

Much controversy has been stirred by Monday’s season finale of NBC’s “Biggest Loser.”  Rachel Frederickson stunned trainers and fans by losing an astonishing 155 lbs and dropping her total weight to a paltry 105 lbs.  Stunned faces of trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper were indicative of the contestant’s vast body transformation.  Many on Twitter and in the media are questioning if this once obese contestant has now partaken in a reverse eating disorder of anorexia.  Read More…

What’s funny about FOX’s new comedy “Dads”? Absolutely nothing.

I just watched the season premiere of FOX’s new sitcom “Dads” and here’s what I have to say: I’d like the last 22 minutes of my life back. I read most of the reviews written about the pilot calling it “offensive” and “reprehensible”, but I wanted to see it for myself before I passed any judgment.

I am not surprised by the negative and racist comments being posted online about Nina Davuluri, the newly-crowned Miss America 2014. No one should be surprised. Unfortunately, we still live in a world where much of the population lives in ignorance. We also live in a world where fair skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes are deemed the most beautiful of traits by many people. If this is your mindset, then I totally understand why Davuluri winning the Miss America crown has pissed you off. A dark-skinned, dark-haired, brown-eyed woman has shattered your world.

Nina Davuluri, Miss America 2014, apparently isn’t “American” because she is Indian

Nina Davuluri is crowned Miss America 2014On Sunday, the new Miss America was crowned.  For the second year in a row the state of New York won the bragging rights of their representative winning the beauty and talent pageant.  Nina Davuluri became the first contestant of Indian descent to win the title of Miss America.  She also was the first contestant to ever perform Bollywood dancing during the “talent” portion of the competition.  While the young beauty celebrated her victory with her tearful and beaming parents, vitriol began to spread via social media.  Read More…

Sunday Night Football Theme Song: Carrie Underwood vs. Faith Hill

Why you should be watching “Breaking Bad”

Breaking BadAMC’s Breaking Bad is a show created and produced by Vince Gilligan.  It centers on the criminal life of Walter White (Bryan Cranston).  Walter is a chemistry teacher who learns he has inoperable lung cancer at the beginning of the series.  The dire news, coupled with a pregnant wife and a son with cerebral palsy, drives the struggling character to ensure the financial security of his family.  Walter turns to manufacturing methamphetamine (a.k.a meth) with the aid of a former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul).   Read More…
